Paros is well known for producing its own local food products, greengrocery, dairy products like graviera & xinomizithra soft cream cheese, honey, olive oil, ouzo, wine and herbs. Greek herbs are especially popular and used in cooking, so you might like to buy some oregano, or a special and flavourful Greek teas, look out for mountain tea “tsai tou vounou", or the sage ,the tea of Paros.
Traditional sweets and pastries are available all over the island ,bakeries to die for.
The wine lovers must pay a visit to our wineries, produced on the island. Most of them pressing grapes since early 90’s. Wander the original stone cellars before sidling up to the bar for a taste of up to a dozen wines. Anything made with the island’s indigenous grape, monemvassia, is particularly worth a try. The winery is an easy walk southeast of the centre.
